Job Description:

The Role of Centralized Support Specialist involves transporting patients between departments while ensuring their comfort and safety. This role also includes handling non-clinical administrative tasks and assisting in maintaining top-quality patient care standards.

• Safely transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed while adhering to safety protocols. Handle medical equipment and specimens with care during transport.
• Follow isolation precautions and maintain a high standard of infection control practices.
• Monitor patients’ well-being and notify medical staff of any issues promptly.
• Assist in maintaining patient records and ensure necessary documentation is carried during transport.
• Manage inventory of supplies on transport equipment to ensure continuous availability.
• Maintain cleanliness of transportation equipment and arrange for repairs as needed.
• Adhere to transport priorities assigned by tracking software or dispatcher.
• Perform additional duties as required within the position’s scope after consultation with department leadership.
• Work at Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford Hospital locations as per the assigned schedule.

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Active BLS certification.
• Prior experience in a patient care environment preferred.
