Overview
Responsible for a wide range of tasks related to food preparation, service, and cleanliness, while delivering exceptional customer service to patients, employees, and visitors. Duties include assembling and delivering patient meals, organizing equipment and supplies, restocking cafeteria and retail areas, and adhering to established food safety guidelines. This role may also involve operating a cash register, processing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
Key Duties:
- Assist in central tray line operations and help with preparing patient trays.
- Follow established procedures to set up and serve patient meals on time.
- Handle the preparation, transportation, and cleaning of food carts.
- Set up steam table, serving line, and menu board with required food items.
- Review menus and prep sheets to ensure adequate supply for salad and cold food prep.
- Prepare various salad mixes, sandwich spreads, and other food items as directed.
- Create sandwiches, wraps, salads, and beverages according to specifications.
- Cut and wash vegetables and fruits following standard guidelines.
- Report any equipment issues or food spoilage to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist in transporting dishes and food items between kitchen and serving areas.
- Operate dishwasher or manually clean dishes in compliance with protocols.
- Participate in post-meal cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Dispose of trash and ensure proper waste management.
General Expectations:
- Adhere to established policies, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Engage in training programs and educational opportunities as required.
- Provide exceptional customer service, promote teamwork, and practice fiscal responsibility.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and handle cooking utensils appropriately.
- Operate cash register and complete financial reports accurately.
- Support equipment care and maintenance in the department.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- No formal education required
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Work Experience:
- Up to 1 month of relevant experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
