The economy is growing, and unemployment remains low, yet the job market isn’t as robust as it once was. Younger job seekers, whether they hold college degrees or not, are feeling the pressure. Hiring projections for this year’s college graduates have dipped compared to last year, with notable slowdowns in sectors like finance, insurance, marketing, and real estate.

As an economics reporter for The New York Times, I’m interested in hearing from recent college graduates, young professionals, and hiring managers about their experiences in this year’s job market. How are broader economic trends impacting you, and what challenges or successes have you encountered?

Your insights will help us develop a more detailed and nuanced picture of how these shifts are being felt—or, in some cases, overcome.

We’ll review all responses carefully and may follow up to learn more. Rest assured, we won’t publish your name or details from your submission without your explicit permission and verification. Contact information will remain strictly within The Times newsroom. If you wish to share tips or thoughts confidentially, there’s an option to do so here.

Below, we’ve included a set of questions for job seekers and another for hiring managers.
