Job Description:
Aid residents in their daily activities, promoting independence while under the guidance of licensed personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding residents’ information and conditions.
- Adhere to established protocols, procedures, and quality standards.
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, changing clothes, nail care, and toileting.
- Ensure residents have clean bedding and make beds when necessary.
- Support residents during meals and snacks for proper nutrition intake.
- Administer prescribed treatments to residents within approved nursing scope.
- Monitor and communicate changes in resident status promptly to supervisory staff.
- Contribute to resident care planning activities.
- Promote activities in accordance with residents’ individual care plans.
- Follow safe lifting and transfer procedures as per resident care plans and safety guidelines.
Perform other duties directed by superiors.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift and transfer resident weights up to 30 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Capacity to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist throughout an entire 8-hour workday.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and task sequencing ability.
- Passion for working with elderly residents.
- Effective communication skills in English for care plans execution and resident interaction.
- Certification in CPR and basic First Aid preferred.
Licensed Nursing Assistant certification in relevant state a bonus.
Physical Demands:
Essential to be active on feet continuously during shifts, and perform frequent bending, stooping, twisting while carrying out duties. Must be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds of resident weight and conducting resident transfers at least 25 times per shift. Quick and appropriate responses required in urgent situations and unforeseen resident behaviors during direct interactions. Ability to relocate residents swiftly during emergencies such as fires. Efficient performance of sequential tasks is crucial.
