Overview

The Research Assistant will be involved in various experiments related to exploring novel therapeutic approaches for genetic disorders. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques and cell culture. The Research Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the research team by conducting experiments, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring a clean and organized laboratory environment. This is a part-time position requiring 10 hours per week commitment.

The Laboratory focuses on investigating genetic variations and their impact on human health, with a particular emphasis on developing innovative treatments. Recent breakthroughs include the identification of new transcriptional regulators targeting genetic sequences with potential therapeutic applications. The Lab is dedicated to advancing knowledge in genomics, molecular biology, and chemical biology to uncover new insights into the human genome.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage basic lab maintenance tasks, including glassware sterilization and equipment cleaning.
  • Assist in the preparation of culture media and solutions for experiments.
  • Support molecular cloning experiments and sample preparation.
  • Operate autoclave, dishwasher, and other lab equipment.
  • Collaborate with the team on various research tasks.
  • Perform assigned job duties effectively.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • No prior experience necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in research or lab work is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Must be self-motivated and dependable.
  • Ability to learn and carry out experimental tasks independently.
