Position Overview
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for handling inbound inquiries, addressing customer needs promptly and with a professional demeanor. This role involves assisting customers with their queries, providing accurate information, and ensuring a positive interaction experience. The Customer Service Representative must uphold high standards of service to meet the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Takes incoming calls with a friendly greeting and assists callers in a courteous manner
- Directs calls to the appropriate department or contact person accurately
- Guides callers to the right extension based on their requirements
- Facilitates long distance phone calls for patients through external operators
- Acts as a central source of information, offering support as needed
- Executes paging procedures effectively for emergency situations
- Delivers paging requests promptly and clearly
- Notifies on-call staff during off-hours efficiently
- Organizes paperwork alphabetically for specific departments
- Verifies and corrects demographic information on paperwork accurately
- Performs additional tasks as delegated
- Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Completion of vocational or specialized training post-high school preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Preferably less than 2 years of relevant work experience for this role
- Preferably less than 1 year of switchboard operation experience
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with strong organization abilities
- Capability to comprehend and implement given instructions
- Ability to work autonomously within defined departmental goals
- Proficiency in using computer systems
- Familiarity with call center procedures and workflows
