Entry-level team member trained to provide customized caregiving services in diverse settings. This individual will work closely with a Mentor, following industry regulations to ensure quality care.
Qualifications
- Completion of foundational education (minimum 9th grade completion); preference for high school diploma
- Adept in reading and writing skills suitable for the position
- Demonstrate empathy and cognitive skills essential for forging strong bonds with clients, their families, and peers
- Maintain a professional appearance consistently
- Healthy and devoid of conditions that may jeopardize well-being of clients, oneself, and team members; required to furnish relevant health records
- Annual compliance with tuberculosis skin tests and submission of documentation to Human Resources
- Access to dependable transportation
- Show proficiency and knowledge in caregiving through successful completion of a skills evaluation:
- Relevant caregiving background
- Assisting clients in fostering self-sufficiency
- Understanding nutrition guidelines and meal prep
- Knowledge of aging processes and emotional aspects of long-term care
- Maintaining hygienic and healthy environments
- Maintaining client privacy and ethical standards
- Understanding healthcare team dynamics and effective communication
- Accurate documentation aligned with care plans, handling concerns, and record-keeping
- Basic housekeeping responsibilities
- Display empathy and strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate sound judgement and tact in all interactions
- Practice proper hygiene, safety, and sanitation practices
- Follow infection control measures and standard precautions
- Awareness of counseling services for challenging situations
Primary Duties
- Adhere to care plans established by mentors to:
- Preserve a safe and healthy environment
- Prepare and offer nutritious meals
- Provide emotional support during home visits
- Carry out routine housekeeping tasks outlined in care plans for a cozy living space, including light cleaning, cooking, dishwashing, bed-making, laundry, and shopping
- Cultivate trustful relationships with clients and their families, honoring confidentiality
- Complete visit reports accurately, documenting services provided, securing client signatures, and submitting reports as per guidelines
- Promptly report any client concerns or changes in condition to designated mentors (avoid conducting client assessments)
- Execute assigned tasks from care plans and notify mentors if unable to do so
- Collaborate with other care professionals as directed by mentors
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all circumstances
- Strictly adhere to tasks detailed in care plans; refrain from offering hands-on or skilled care
- Follow emergency procedures in the event of incidents, injuries, or alterations in client condition, and report promptly to mentors or management
Hourly Pay Range: $12.00 – $14.50
