Role Overview

A full-time position is available for 40 hours per week, working Saturday to Wednesday from 3pm to 11:30 pm. A mandatory three-week orientation on a Monday-Friday day shift (7:00am-3:30pm) will be provided. Reporting directly to the Emergency Department Administrative Manager, the Support Associate (SA) is responsible for ensuring the availability and upkeep of supplies and equipment within the Emergency Department. The SA is tasked with stocking, cleaning, and maintaining supplies and equipment in treatment bays, treatment area carts, and specialty carts, along with managing inventory and stocking special purchase items in central supply rooms. Collaboration with staff from various hospital departments is essential to enhance the Environment of Care in the Emergency Department. For a comprehensive job description, please refer below: PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Central Supply Management Completing inventory, maintaining par levels, and stocking Emergency Department supply areas daily. Keeping supply rooms organized and clean. Cooperating with hospital Materials Management staff to ensure timely delivery of Emergency Department supplies. Managing inventory of special purchase items. Supply and Equipment Management/Daily Operations Responding promptly to urgent requests from clinical staff. Providing customer support to end users. Checking and ensuring availability, cleanliness, and functionality of supplies and equipment in assigned treatment bays. Replacing, cleaning, or repairing items as needed. Stocking and organizing supply carts in assigned treatment bays. Checking, stocking, and organizing specialty supply carts. Maintaining, cleaning, and organizing equipment in assigned areas, including centrally managed equipment. Monitoring expiration dates of commodities and ensuring stock rotation. Collaborating with various hospital staff to address supply and equipment issues and coordinate cleaning and repairs. Stocking patient treatment rooms with required forms. Maintaining clean, organized, and safe environment in the Emergency Department. Completing shift reports to document completed tasks and pending follow-ups. Other Responsibilities Providing feedback to Leadership Team on supply levels and adjustments. Performing required cart overhaul tasks. Assisting in departmental and equipment cleaning efforts. Completing necessary documentation as per department policies and procedures. Assisting in product recall activities and conversions. Reporting discrepancies, issues, or questions to Supervisor. Practicing proper body mechanics and safety when handling materials. Adhering to Hospital, Joint Commission, and DPH protocols. Performing other duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS: Able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Capable of standing for extended periods. Involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma required and a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar clinical setting preferred. Must possess a positive attitude and problem-solving skills. SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Good physical condition for cleaning and heavy lifting. Basic knowledge of medical supplies, instruments, and equipment. Ability to maximize storage space. Competency in checklists and basic math for maintaining inventory levels. Ability to manage stressful situations. Basic computer proficiency. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
