Fitness Room Monitor – job post

Evening shift on Tuesday and Thursday 4:00pm – 8:00pm with potential for additional shifts

Salary Range:

Hourly pay scale: $14.50-$20.78

Job Overview:

Customer Care Associates play a vital role in creating a positive atmosphere for customers and visitors. Their primary responsibilities include greeting individuals and offering assistance with basic service operations. Customer Care Associates are also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in designated service areas. They collaborate with instructors, trainers, and service representatives to ensure top-notch customer satisfaction.

Key Job Tasks and Duties:

• Deliver excellent customer service by engaging with customers, aiding in equipment set-up, and addressing inquiries.
• Keep service areas tidy and well-organized; arrange weights, dumbbells, and bars. Sanitize and upkeep equipment.
• Execute opening/closing routines for service zones and workout spaces.
• Master knowledge of the service facility to effectively communicate equipment operations. Complete daily assessments of equipment functionality.
• Inform supervisors promptly of any irregular occurrences such as damaged equipment, incidents, property issues, unauthorized visitors, etc.
• Promptly file detailed incident reports and submit them to the Service Operations Supervisor.
• Support in preparations in the studio and gymnasium during peak periods. Monitor locations requiring supervision.
• Undertake other tasks as delegated.

Employment Requirements:

• Candidates must adhere to state labor laws and the Fair Labor Standards Act, being 16 years old or over.
• Demonstrate good communication skills with colleagues and the public.
• Obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 90 days of starting.
• Able to lift and/or relocate up to 50 lbs. with assistance.

Work Setting:

Job activities are generally light in physical demand. The majority of work occurs in a standard health and fitness facility. Execute hand and arm motions like those involved in typing on a keyboard or using a calculator. Read and write information by hand in a legible manner. Tasks may involve lifting, twisting, bending, or crouching.
