Hospitality Aide (EF) – Part Time, 2nd Shift – job post

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

This position is responsible for providing support to individuals while offering assistance without direct physical care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility 1: Conduct regular check-ins and aid residents with basic requirements. Tasks may include ensuring access to water, helping with mobility, and fetching items like remote controls.

Responsibility 2: Support residents during mealtimes and offer additional nourishment between meals without administering hands-on care. Serve meals, monitor residents while eating.

Responsibility 3: Promptly respond to call signals and inform nurse aides or nurses when their assistance is needed.

Responsibility 4: Manage soiled linens by collecting, bagging, and sending them to laundry. Also, procure clean linens and supplies, empty trash, and tidy up beds.

Responsibility 5: Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety in the surroundings to prevent tripping hazards.

Responsibility 6: Collaborate with the Activity and Adult Day departments as required.

Responsibility 7: Perform other assigned tasks as necessary.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills focusing on impeccable service delivery.
• Proficiency in providing age-appropriate care with a keen understanding of growth and development principles across different life stages. Ability to analyze patient data accurately and cater to age-specific needs in accordance with established procedures.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience working with the elderly population is desirable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role involves various physical activities such as walking, sitting, lifting, bending, and standing. The role may include lifting heavy objects weighing 20 pounds or more. The individual should have normal vision and hearing abilities and the capability to follow both verbal and written instructions.

This position may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens (HBV, HIV, etc.) and is categorized as “at risk.”
