ULTRASOUND TECHNICIAN RD OB CRD VAS

Current employees who have completed at least one (1) year in their current position are eligible to request a lateral transfer. However, certain conditions apply: employees who have received a written warning are not eligible for transfer or promotion until six (6) months after the warning date; employees who have been suspended cannot request a transfer or promotion until one (1) year after the suspension date. Part-time employees who have successfully completed their probationary period may apply for full-time positions within their department, provided it does not significantly impact departmental operations. The probation period is three (3) months for full-time employees and four (4) months for part-time employees working more than 3/5 of the normal workweek.

In this position, you will work closely with the team led by the Radiologist managing ultrasound services and the ultrasound supervisor. Your responsibilities will include independently conducting various ultrasound examinations and following established scanning protocols for medical diagnostic purposes.

The working hours for this role are scheduled from 12 pm to 8 pm on Saturdays and Sundays every other weekend, including holidays.

TASKS:

Performing sonograms of specific anatomical areas while adhering to designated protocols.
Ensuring proper patient positioning based on individual characteristics and examination requirements.
Compiling initial findings reports following completed sonograms and conducting patient interviews for identification and medical history.
Adhering to imaging workflow in EPIC and GE PACS systems, including exam tracking and image verification.
Providing quality patient care, including operating IV pumps, oxygen delivery, and maintaining patient comfort and privacy.
Cleaning and maintaining ultrasound equipment between procedures and ensuring optimal equipment performance.
Handling and securing ultrasound equipment safely.
Maintaining patient records in EPIC and PACS, coordinating with other clinical data.
Training new staff, Radiology residents, medical students, and ultrasound students in ultrasound procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma/GED
Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Program
ARDMS registration in Abdomen and/or OBGYN specialties

Maintaining active ARDMS status through 30 CE credits per three-year period.

Proficiency in operating diagnostic ultrasound units with various modes and imaging capabilities. Familiarity with EPIC medical information system, GE PACS, Trophon disinfection systems, and basic workstation/PC operations.
